ENJOYING & PROTECTING HAWAII'S PRECIOUS CORAL REEFS

Our website is about enjoying Hawaii's coral reefs and their inhabitants, and how to protect them. Hawaii's reefs are being decimated by fish collectors (capturing reef fish for the home aquarium trade) and other coral damage caused by humans.

CORAL DAMAGE CAUSED BY BOAT ANCHOR

We filmed this at Kiholo Bay. Although it is unlawful to damage coral with an "implement", DLNR says this isn't unlawful as they didn't actually hold the implement in their hands as the damage was done. They are destroying the very thing that they are trying to make money off of. Each time the boat anchors there they are killing a part of the reef.
